Nature has always been a big part of my life. As a wildlife biologist for over 25 years, I have a great appreciation for the world we live in. Now, as a biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, I am able to fulfill a lifelong dream to work with threatened and endangered species. When I’m not working, I enjoy camping and hiking with my wife and two daughters, backpacking with friends, and birdwatching. Birds are among the most vocal of animals, and sound is especially important when it comes to identifying birds. You can’t always see a bird when it’s at the top of a 100-foot tree, but you can almost always tell what it is from its call or song. Music is another big part of my life. I’ve been interested in high-end stereo since the mid-70’s when I first heard a friend’s modest system. I’ve been hooked ever since. Although I enjoy home theater, my main interest is two-channel stereo. When it comes to my goals for my system, I strive to be able to close my eyes and imagine the musicians are in the room with me. Although at first glance this sounds simple, it actually demands a great deal from each and every component. I enjoy all kinds of music, from blue grass to classical. One of the pleasures with this hobby is sharing and learning about great music.
I look forward to sharing my music system with others and enjoying some great music together.
